After the tremendous amount of popularity and success of the WPT World Championship in the previous year, the event will be making a re-entry at Wynn Las Vegas. This is slated for the 29th of November, 2023, and will continue till the 23rd of December, 2023.
The proof of the sheer success of the event held in the year 2022 stems from the fact that there were 2,960 runners, almost double the amount of $15 million in the guaranteed prize pool. This time it will be the grand finale for season XXI of the World Poker Tour.
Wynn Las Vegas happens to be a Forbes Travel Guide five-star resort which will be partnering with WPT in order to be able to host the event. There will be a WPT Prime Championship, along with a WPT Ladies Championship, as well as a WPT World Championship slated for different time periods.
According to the CEO of WPT, Adam Pliska, the event happened to have been an overall rip-roaring success the last time over. There have been the necessary additions to the event that will be held this year in order to provide all connected and concerned people a far better experience.
The last event was awarded the 2022 Event of the Year at the 4th annual Global Poker Awards, which happened to have witnessed 2,960 runners altogether. The prize pool amount had shot up to $29,008,000, which was duly received by the top 370 players. It saw the Canadian Eliot Hudon winning the title and carrying away with him the prize money amounting to $4,136,000.
In second place happened to be Benny Glaser of England, with a winning amount of $2,830,000. As per the Executive Director of Poker Operations at Wynn Las Vegas, Ryan Beauregard, they had made payments amounting to over $53 million, in terms of prize money, in the month of December 2022. Therefore, the WTP slated for this year’s end is being looked upon with much excitement and a very high level of expectations from one and all.
