Tae Gon Kim wins $111,075 in Bicycle Casino Main Event

Los Angeles-based Tae Gon Kim won the Bicycle Casino WSOP Circuit $1,700 Main Event. The champion has scored $111,075—the most in his career. Tae Gon Kim not only won the reputed WSOP Circuit ring but also secured his entry in Las Vegas for the coming WSOP Tournament of Champions in the summer.

Kim claimed his first major tournament title for the second time after playing for 15 hours against Santiago Cortijo in a short heads-up match. He received the first tournament cash of $2,625 at the World Series of Poker 2021 in Las Vegas. With this massive win, Kim is looking forward to playing in more tournaments.

On the second day, tournament organizers surprisingly declared a prize pool of $512,070 that would be cashed out to the winners immediately. Out of 54 players, 20 were eliminated after two hours before the first break, including a well-known name in Phil Laak.

Phil Laak was eliminated at the 38th position and won $2,485. A few more players left the table, including Marc Weinstein, at the 11th stage, who took home $7,705.

Kim kept playing well, beating Sean Yu, Mats Gavatin, and Peter Cross, who had all won eight Circuit rings. From there, Kim battled with Santiago Cortijo and won the title.
