Pro Bowls games are headed to Florida

The Pro Bowl Games will now be held in Florida as Las Vegas is gearing up to host its first Super Bowl. Both events have happened in the same region, but the reason why Las Vegas is letting go of the Pro Bowl Games is that it is hosting the Super Bowl for the first time.

Super Bowl LVIII begins on February 11 at Allegiant Stadium. The Pro Bowl will begin earlier, that is, on February 04, at Camping World Stadium. Orlando has previously held the event from 2017 to 2020. The event is only coming back home after 2 years of spending its time in the sin city.

Also known as an all-star game, it was hosted by the city for the past 2 seasons. What marked iconic moments in the last season was the reimagined Pro Bowl Games taking place in the Henderson Headquarters of the Raiders along with Allegiant Stadium. Also, it featured a new format that brought a combination of live and taped skills competitions to the fans. NFL viewing flag football remained a critical part of the future of the sport.

If one looks at it from a numerical aspect, one realizes that Las Vegas was able to bring over 6.4 million viewers across ESPN, Disney, Disney XD, and ABC plus digital. More than 58k people visited Allegiant Stadium to watch the game live. This is a 16% increase from the number that was reported in the previous year.

Peter O’Reilly from the NFL has said that they are thrilled to bring the 2024 year’s edition of the game to Orlando. The Executive Vice President for league events & club business has highlighted that the next edition of the Pro Bowl Games will build on the success that they achieved after reinventing the format last year, adding that it brought an element of competition and entertainment together.

The event is being brought to the fans by Verizon. The reimagined format of the game is a direct result of the feedback that the NFL received from players, fans, and teams.

Orlando last hosted the games from 2017 to 2020, that is, four consecutive years. The next edition of the Pro Bowl Games will run across Central Florida to cover the fan experience by bringing them closer to their favorite players and clubs. It will indeed be a celebration of the football season in Florida as the games return after 2 years. 

Steve Hogan, the Chief Executive Officer of Florida Citrus Sports, has expressed their confidence in Orlando being the premier destination for major events – including sports. Sports betting is less likely to feel the heat of the change. Fans will be able to continue indulging in betting on NFL games.
