Playtech and IGT Sign Cross-Licensing Partnership

Gambling technology giant Playtech has joined hands with International Game Technology (IGT); IGT will help expand Playtech’s services in the US and is an extensive portfolio holder of slot game feature patents in the US.

According to the newly granted license’s terms, Playtech can now offer several games across the United States, featuring specific attributes from IGT’s US patent portfolio. The license agreement was granted in New Jersey.

Optimistic about the agreement, IGT’s COO, Nick Khin, said Playtech “will help propel our collective innovation and growth”.

Playtech has partnered with big brands with immense distribution capabilities in North America; the gambling development company has signed deals with names like Swiss Casinos, Norsk Tipping, and SKS365.

Playtech’s Chief Operating Officer Shimon Akad believes this partnership to be a “significant milestone” and would help Playtech extend its reach in all of North America

Adding to the above statement, he also said that they are looking forward to offering the US market with more of their market-leading software and technology products in what is a rapidly growing US market, and has already gone live with bet365 and BetMGM at the beginning of this year.

Playtech is the world’s leading gambling technology and financial trading firm offering BI based gambling software products, services, content, and platform technology for casinos, live casinos, sports betting, virtual sports, poker, and bingo.

Playtech has also pioneered Playtech ONE, which is an omnichannel gambling tech. Playtech ONE offers seamless gameplay, anytime and from anywhere, for imparting the ultimate gaming experience to the players.

International Game Technology, formerly known as Gtech S.p.A., is a multinational gambling leader. Headquartered in London, in 2006, Gtech Corporation (US-based gambling company) got acquired by Lottomatica (Italian gambling company). Further, IGT came into existence when the company acquired International Game Technology in 2015.

IGT’s offerings include slot machines, gambling machines, lotteries, sports betting, and several gambling-related digital solutions.
