Netflix has decided to organize a golf tournament in preparation for the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Netflix Cup will feature Formula 1 drivers competing against PGA superstars in a round of 18-hole golf at the Wynn Golf Club against PGA stars. The ceremony is scheduled for November 14, 2023. This will be the first time Netflix has broadcast a live sporting event.
The golf tournament will have four teams, each consisting of one Formula 1 driver and one seasoned PGA player, competing in an eight-hole round. The two teams heading the list will move towards the final hole to find their place at the top. The movement of betting odds at many online golf betting sites is pretty impulsive.
As per a statement released to the press, in the case of the Formula 1 racers, there will be Pierre Gasly, Lando Norris, Alex Albon, and Carlos Sainz. They will be up against professional PGA players like Rickie Fowler and Max Homa, as well as Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas. Some of these players have played a role in the Netflix series Formula 1: Drive to Survive and Full Swing. There are still a few names to be released.
According to Steve Weitman, the president of Wynn Las Vegas, their prestigious golf club has organized one-of-a-kind matches for the past couple of years. The Netflix Cup will be a fascinating event that will contribute to the legacy of the club. The proximity of their establishment to the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix track, according to him, will play a significant role. On November 14, 2023, a live broadcast of the golfing competition will be conducted.
Where the Wynn Golf Club is concerned, it came into the limelight due to a video going viral that showed the way the MSG Sphere trolls golfers playing on the Tom Fazio-created championship course.
